A friend and I are traveling to India (first time for each) in November, and while I would really, REALLY like to travel independantly, she would feel much more comfortable with a group. Has anyone had experience with Intrepid's Original tours in India? If so, what did you like, dislike? And how was the accomodation? I can endure almost anything during daylight hours, but I must confess, I like hot water, a clean bed, a private western toilet and a roach-free environment at night.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I am sorry i cant comment much on Intrepid Travels conducted tours.
India can be easily done in an independent way and over the past decade things have changed a lot, infrastructure has improved and people are getting aware and steps are being taken to improve tourism in every possible way. The things that you require like hot water, clean bed, etc are easily available in most of the indian towns.
Do let me know if u decide to travel independently, i can help u on specific issues then
Cheers and have a nice time in India
Thank you, Arif. I have no doubt that it would be easy to have a good trip and find good accomodation traveling independantly--my worry comes when putting my fate into the hands of a tour group! Unfortunately, my friend is very set on going with a group. I am trying to see if I can convince her to start out our trip with a week-long group tour and then spending the last half of our trip traveling independantly. If she agrees, I'd love to get some advice from you. Thanks, again!
I think that should be fine!!
most of the group tours involve rushing from one place to another and u have to go with the group even if ur desire otherwise.
With the advent of online bookings, for trains, buses, flights and hostels, travelling has become less hassle free compared to what it was a decade back.
Feel free to message me for any help that u may require
