3 days in Brazil - Where should I go?

My husband and I will be in Sao Paulo visiting family in April and will have 3 days to travel wherever in Brazil. It's a very short time so we must use it well - we can not spend too much time getting from one place to another.
We are both in our twenties looking for a unique, beautiful and romantic destination.

At the moment our other options are:

Bonito (Is the long trip really worth it?)
Iguacu falls (Wont 3 days be too much there? any other activities in the area?)
Rio De Janeiro + surrounding beaches
Bahia/beaches up north (wont 3 days be too little?)

Do you have any other places to suggest?

Please help us organize our dream-getaway.

What kind of getaway do you want? Beaches, mountains, forest, culture... You should bear in mind that Brazil is a continent-size country and although you travel by plane, you'll spend your 3 days on-route. Bonito is the most romantic of the options and the region offers caves, rivers and lakes to enjoy. But it will depend of what you are looking for. In Bahia there's a lot to do but 3 days won't be enough if you want to visit the best places! Even if you fly there. Salvador (Bahia) is a must! According to your time schedule, you should go to Rio. 3 day is the exact time to spend there to visit the tourist attractions and enjoy the main beaches. Iguaçu Falls is a wonderful place but to take the complete tour you should also have time to visit the Argentinean side!

have just returned from sth america visited these two:

Iguacu falls - beautiful, puerto iguazu is lovely, nothing ele nearby.
Rio De Janeiro + surrounding beaches. Diappointed was dirty and down at the heels. (well after all its hey day was in teh 1950's and it looks as though no maintenance has been carried out since.)

have you considered curritiba? (brazil), has the famous tourist train trip which we did, it was lovely, great beaches on the cost which you can reach via the train.

Flights are frequent, or you could take the bus (6 hours), even the comfortable overnight ones.
You will certainly fall in love with Brazil and come back again to see some of the other places on your list.

So ideally I would choose Rio but as my husband has already been there a few years ago.. We're gonna go with Bonito!! I hope we made a good choice... If anyone has suggestions on hotels in Bonito (We liked 'Cabanas' but have not found many reviews on the internet...), tour agencies, pick up service from the airport, or any bonito tips.. thanx!

Rio de Janeiro!!! Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches are beautiful, especially the latter. Go to Sugar Loaf Mountain for striking city/beach views. And if you have time for a two-day trip, check out the beach towns of Buzios (resort town) or Ihla Grande (preserved island). Both are close to Rio and just spectacular.
