Have several offenses from the 80's on my record and want to visit Ireland / UK next year anyone have experience or similar and know if can get in countries ?

I'm pretty sure you will be totally fine coming here. It's just your country that won't let us lot in if we once smoked a joint as a kid!! I think you will find the security measures here in Europe a bit less "Thorough" than the tactics used in the USA. You wont have finger prints taken or your iris's photographed or interviewed for hours about where you are staying etc. My friend has an American passport even though he lives in the UK and he gets around Europe no problem.

Hi all, this is kind of relavant.

I have a single cannabis possession caution on my record (in that they took my name, confiscated my gear, but didn't arrest me or charge me) I picked up back in October when it was still listed as a Class C substance. Will this stop me from travelling to North America in the future?

I also want to add on to this question. There is a warrent out in canada for a friend of mine who wants to travel to ireland. He was charged with possesion. Would he run into any problems entering ireland and returning to canada?
