Can't say I've been to all of Asia, but at least I can say I didn't fail geography and history, which is more than I can say for you, OP.

This is actually quite an interesting debate. Although I don't agree with Swept Away's geography, he is not the only person to disagree with what the continents are. There are many people that think the Americas as a whole is a continent and that there is a continent called Australasia. There is also Eurasia of course. It is a very political subject. But for the people of the UK there are 7 preferred continents. For Latin America and Iran there are 6 preferred continents. Hopefully, Swept Away, the Philippines teaches the 7 continent model, otherwise if they prefer the 6 continent model using Eurasia as one continent then you have a hell of a lot more countries to visit before you can say you have done a whole continent!!!! (almost as many as the amount of times I mentioned the word "continent" in that last sentence )

If you want to base how continents are split by song contests then we have to say that Israel and Turkey are both European, as they enter into the Eurovision Song Contest every year. But then that would be a silly idea wouldn't it? Also there is an MTV Europe but also An MTV UK so does that mean the UK is not a part of Europe?

Turkey and Israel, aren't they Caucasians too like the Arabs. The Arabs are Caucasians like the Ainu of Japan (Indigenous people). Anyway, I am just basing my definition in books and I got paid to read loads of it. Besides it favors me to count it as 14. I am down to 4. My next goal is Korea. I'm saving Indonesia, when I have enough money for a piece of Australia. East Timor, really had to be a country. It was never part of my original plan.

I have my MA in Asian Studies in my backpack, fully funded. But I am not playing smart, when I am in a bar or a hostel with all the people of the world.

In primary school we define Asia as the largest continent (in my country). But In books by western scholar, the orientals are the almond eyed and the brown Malays. It excludes the Indians, who had Alexander's blood and the Arabs, which are classified as caucasoids.

North America goes all the way to Panama. there are just 13 countries in South America.

I don't think it is wise to classify different continents by race. It is far more complicated than that. For example Northern African People originate from the Capoid race, yet the rest of Africa is Negroid. The top of China is Mongoloid and the bottom, including the Philippines and some other SE Asian countries originate from the Australoid race. The human race diversified such a long time ago that we cannot define continents by biological racial differences anymore. Therefore the way to define continents is politically, which is the way we do it now.

Yeah, my question was wrong actually. I was referring to the division of central and north america. Is mexico central or north america? (central is not a continent, but the division here on TP is withouth Mexico)
