Slow or my computer?

Travel Forums System Talk Slow or my computer?

Is it just me/my computer, or is the site slow the last couple of days?

O, one question/annoyance: I just flagged one down in the Central America forum. it had been there for almost 5 hours and was seen by 10 other members. Come one guys and girls: flag those down as spam please, or have you contacted the person already

Last thing: what is done with for example the reporting of members? For example with promo in profile, travelguide vandalism etc. etc. etc. etc.

And now the flagged thread is gone. Though, I hear the San Blas Islands are very nice. Didn't get there when in Panama. :(

As to the site being slow the past day or two, I haven't had a problem with loading speed.

Has been working fine for me.

Only a small percentage of all viewers will be logged in (or registered at all), and only a small percentage of those will be trusted to flag messages for review; it's entirely possible that none of those 10 earlier views were by someone with the rights to do this.

I haven't noticed it; is it the whole site?

These are definitely looked at, usually by me. This doesn't happen daily though, but guaranteed it happens. One thing to note is that inactivating a profile is quite a 'big step'. We don't do it for a one-off spamming of the forum or guide, although we run a query on each username reported to see if they might have done something else that isn't visible publicly (messages being the main one). A mention of a company in a profile is not grounds for inactivating a profile, mainly because it's not pushed into people's faces (you actually physically have to go and visit the the profile to see the 'ad'). Naturally if the whole profile is nothing but an ad, and that is repeated across some forum postings, they're likely not to be active by the time I'm done with it

It seemed that it was my computer at work, but other sites weren't slow. Oh well, fine now though.
Thanks for the answers guys and girl.
Cheers!
