I am flying out to Florida at the end of May, from where after a few days, I will head down to South America. I will potentially have anything from between 5 to 6 weeks out there, and am in desperate need of some help/suggestions with where people think I should go, or how much I should try and take on in the limited time. Any help/ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
one idea is to fly copa air or avianca.. With Copa, you can go anywhere in south america with a free stop (unlimited time in Panama City. Panama is a fantastic country and quite cheap. Very american though but theres the canal, monkeys, toucans. Avianca goes to bogata colombia before going somewhere else. I live in Brasil and Brasil is a great place to go but in MY opinion, Panama, Venezuela, Brasil, Argentina and Costa Rica in order are my favourites. I have written many posts about Venezuela b/c of the beaches. Brasil has beaches too but in Argentina, the weather is colder in May. People will say that Peru is good too Inca trail but I havent been there. Im sure people will post their favourites.
I am Brazilian and apart from my country, my favourites are: Peru, Equador, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia... I haven't been to Panama or Costa Rica (pity...)
If you intend to take the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu you should book it right away!!! In Peru there are options of tours of all kinds! It's a complete country! Just like Brazil! The thing is, Brazil is continent-size, so 5-6 weeks won't be enough for you to really know the country. Maybe the must-sees!
Best of luck!
