So Germany! I'm gonna go there in about a month and a bit for 2-3 months. I'll be staying with my boyfriend - and since I only studied French in my lifetime - am thinking of taking up a German course while I'm there - I figured it would be a good idea, since my vocabulary limits itself to...well..not much. Anyway!
I googled some stuff, and found this school
called the Deutsch Akademie - it's the cheapest by far and looks pretty good - the rest of the schools are all 700Euros and up and much less lessons. Has anyone taken German lessons at this place before? I'd like to go for it, but I'm a bit curious as to why it's this cheap...there has to be something wrong with it.
If anyone knows anything about it? I will love you forever! (Really!)
And happy travels!
hey I don't know anything specific about this school but I do have a friend who paid to study German in Dresden, when he got there they said the beginner class was cancelled because of not enough interest and they placed him in an intermediate class. Due to the fact he had limited ability he ended up getting a few one on one tutes but it still wasnt enough to catch him up to the intermediate level.
I suppose what I'm saying is be carefull and do some research into this school
Erm, yeah I should check how many people are in this thing...I'm just trying to research a bit of it now, it seems to good to be true! Thanks Ringo
My name is Karolina and I went to DeutschAkadmie Vienna for 2 months to learn German. I think it`s a very nice language-school located directly in the center of Vienna (next to the opera) and I really can recommend this language-school. The price was great (I compared it to the other schools) and my teachers were very helpful and I made a lot of new friends. I really appreciated the fact to learn German in small groups. In my class were 10 people from all other the world and it was a very familiar and nice atmosphere. In my opinion I really got a lot for my money... and also my German improved. So if you are thinking of going to the DeutschAkademie... I think it is a great choice!
The only thing is that it was very hot during summer and the air-conditioning in my classroom was broken for 2 weeks.
Thanks for getting back!! A couple of months ago, my boyfriend's coworker suggested it, since some of his friends went (and seemed to be doing ok), so I tried it. I'm now in the next level up, and it's pretty good. Like you said, the classes are small (ten people), and a comfortable environment. It's funny, we also have a problem with air condioning in some parts of the building - but I was lucky, got a room with dinosaur-sized windows, so it's pretty nice But it's a good school - I'm planning on taking it all the way through (aside from August for vacation time).
I really appreciate you replying! It's been so long since I put that up, I completely forgot I did it. But it's a good place
