I recently visited Paris, traveling from my hometown Athens-Hellas (Greece). I've traveled to many places of Europe and i was once again very excited for my trip. The city was magnificent and the people were very friendly. All of them?????? NO, OF COURSE NOT! I visited along with my wife the cafe "LE DUREE" on Ave Champs Elysse. We sat on a table to taste the famous candy bar Maccarone. We waited for 20 minutes for someone to take our order but nobody served us. And as if this wasn't enough, there were 3 waiters for 10 tables, they decided to take an order from 2 french girls, that came 2 minutes before our waiting time passed the 20 minutes!
So if you like to be served, don't go to "LA DURRE"! You will not be served, if you are a tourist who wants to enjoy the city.
Oh, dear. I love my hometown but once in a while we get crap service at crap restaurants. It's like that ALL over the world. Sometimes you just hit the wrong restaurant. Best to just get up and leave.

Have you thought of lifting your lazy hand to call a waiter? Frankly, get over yourself, dude. Paris is a very busy city and if you expect to be treated just like in the countryside, you really got it all wrong. Instead of criticizing and keeping waiting forever, next time, why don't you use your brain and do something about it? Sorry if I'm too honest, but seriously, your behaviour is so typical of a tourist that expects to be treated like a king just because it's Paris. It's just a city like any other city with people like any other people and yes some waiters do get tired and might not have noticed you, it doesnt mean they are racist and did it on purpose!!!!

You think that i didn't thought to do just that. Of course i waved to the waiters (3 persons for only 10 tables!!!) But obviously they preferred to serve French people whom will visit the cafe many times rather than the tourists who will visit for 3-4 days!!!
Why seek the evil in one negative experience? Don't go back to Paris if that's how you see things.
Anyway, you can think whatever you want but waiters are not taught to do that...
People, I invite you to go to Ladurée (And not Le Duree, as Demonios misspelt it) and see for yourself if waiters behave like this with all tourists or if Demonios was simply victim of a blunder from the busy waiters (who, just like Demonios pointed out, were very busy and had 10 tables for only 3 waiters)...

You must be joking my friend if you think that 3 waiters for 10 coffee tables aren't more than enough. If you believe so, then come to Greece where 1 waiter is serving 20 tables at a tavern, where every person's order is at least 6 plates! Why don't you visit "LA DUREE" and see for your self that they are too stupid to know whom came first or not after 20 minutes!!!!!
I am happy to have this life than yours. Thanks for the advice James.

Well I am going back to Paris next month so I will certainly do that.
Besides, you said it yourself, they might be "stupid" as you say or they thought somebody was already taking care of you or something but they didnt do it on PURPOSE and thats the whole point... We're all humans, sorry not to be as perfect as you are...
