hey guys...first post....

I've recently decided to give it all up and go places....Nov 09 is the date id like to go....

after much debating i think ive settled on a route within my budget and time scale...im willing to 'slum' it in order to gain the best experiences i can on the way, it will take a lot of effort (pre, during and post trip) but really feel i need to do this. i may have selected a very stereotypical route, i dont know, but it sounds amazing to me......

so...the route...

uk - ( possible stop depending on flights..) to tokyo - ferry from osaka to shanghi - then on foot/bus/train all the way to kuala lumpur ( stopping at hong kong/hanoi/hoi chi minh city/phnom penh/bangkok/kuala and anywhere else on route i find. all that in bout 4/5 months, more if needed) then to borneo ( so i can stand either side of equator. no other reason so far) not sure how to get there yet though - then back to kuala for flight to sydney - then 6 months plus (hopefully) exploring as much of oz as poss. working inc... - then uk via stopover (wherever)

any comments on above would be much appreciated

thanks........ james

hiii james..

wow interesting trip route.. if you are looking for a more adventurous trip, then i would recommend you to take the trans siberian railway from Moscow to Vladivostok. it is six days journey by train crossing six different time zone and two continent. It is one of the most wonderful trips by land that I wish one day I could complete it. .. then u can take ferry from vladivostok to Japan.. it is cheaper, while u 'll have more experince during the journey...
