Im thinking of booking a short flight with them but I dont know how reliable they are. They seem to have sooooo many clauses on their web page! Has anyone used them...? Air asia do not take this route. So Im thinking of giving them some business...

thanks all

I pretty much loathe Jetstar. Nickel-and-dime-ing you for everything, and you'd better be real certain your luggage is below their weight limit. Still, they're not a "dodgy" airline or anything (they're a subsidiary of Qantas), and for a low-cost cattle-class airline, they're still not as bad as, say, Ryanair.

I used Jetstar in Australia and they were fine; I haven't used them in Asia though.

I did use Air Asia and they were pretty good - amazing fares if you can book in advance.

I've flown Jetstar plenty of times with no problem.

Highly recommended.

Me too! No problems. My last flight was a return flight from Melbourne - Tazzy.

Yes you have to pay for 'bits and pieces', but that is the point of a low cost airline....its stripped down to the bare mininum.

I flew Jetstar Perth to Singapore return and Siem Reap to Singapore without any problem. Sure you don't get any of the luxuries you would flying a full price carrier but apart from that they were fine. It was a much more pleasant experience flying with Jetstar than it was with Tiger Airways.

I wouldn't worry too much, the reason I disliked my Tiger Airways flight was the other passengers on it (it seemed every annoying person had decided to fly that day!). Apart from that their sound system within the plane was awful, we were sitting in about row 4 and couldn't hear any of the safety announcements/captains messages .etc. Not that that was such a bad thing, but sometimes it's nice to know what is going on!

That said, anytime I have a bad flight on a low cost carrier I just think how much money I have saved compared to if I flew a traditional airline, and that always makes things seem more bearable!

Flew Jetstar Perth - Denpasar - Perth in the past 5 weeks and they were OK.
No frills but who needs them on a 3.5 hr flight.
Opps - didn't even read any of the clauses or conditions!!!
