Thanks for the suggestions again guys. We've decided to rent a car for the second week so we'll be able to travel a bit further afield. 25 days to go now, counting them days down!

Casa Loma is pretty neat.

If you're looking to get out of town for a bit, take a trip to Georgian Bay, it's only about an hour out of Toronto, and they have some great beaches!

2 weeks in Toronto is just far too much with so much of everything around you. The Horseshoe Falls (Niagara on the USA side) are just down the road - and a budget flight to Thunder Bay (about 1.5 hours) will take you to the shores of Lake Superior. I'm not knocking Toronto one bit - I've done it so many times and it's just wonderful. But Canada, the World's largest country within one continent, awaits you. It's awesome - and so easy to get about. The roads, if you fancy hiring a car, are amongst the best (and quietest) on the planet.

Yeah like I say we have decided to rent a car for the second week so we can do a bit of traveling around the area. I've never heard of Thunder Bay but it looks awesome, certainly a possibility for the second week.

Just another quick question, would there be any restrictions if we decided to cross the Canadian/US border for a few days in a rental car? I have family in Binghamton, NY and I didn't realise that its only about 5-6 hours drive from Toronto.

There aren't really any restrictions to speak of going into the USA. It's coming back that sometimes causes a bit of a hold up. The USA is generally cheaper than Canada for most things, including booze and fuel. The authorities tend to be more grumpy on your 'Back into Canada' part - rather than when you leave.
If you're thinking of Thunder Bay, then a nice border crossing is from Western Ontario into either Minnesota or North Dakota. The countryside round there is lovely and there are, off the beaten track, a few old ghost towns uninhabited by coach loads of tourists.
Sounds like a magical trip.

Sorry to bump this but wanted to thank the guys for the suggestions which helped make an awesome trip.

We did so much in the two weeks. Meal up the CN Tower, Blue Jays Vs Phillies (Jays lost 10-0 :( ), ROM, Wonderland, Ontario Place, Harbor front and craft center, Science museum, Chinatown, distillery district, tour of the Steamwhistle brewery, Casa Loma, helicopter tour of the city, Niagara and Niagara on the Lake etc etc! Too much to list!

The Madison and Grace O'Malleys were our main drinking spots and we mainly ate at the Rich Tree/The Keg.

The second week we decided to go for a drive and spent the weekend at Grand Bend, brilliant place and awesome beach/sunset.

We also drove to London and spent a couple of days in Markham with friends.

All in all a great holiday, thanks again.

We did lots of the previous suggesstions but also did the Thousand Island cruise which we enjoyed. Cant remeber where it was, I think it was near Kingston.

Fishing on the lakes is also lovely the scenery is breathtaking.

Couple of must see places.

I would recommend Casa Loma, the CN tower (make sure you go on a clear day or you'll only see cloud!) and ROM. We also took a bus to Niagra Falls which, despite the tacky shops and attractions nearby, is well worth a visit. I'd have loved to have seen the blue Jays but I went with my Mum and there's no way she'd have sat through it! I'm seeing the Mariners vs white sox and Oakland A's vs the Indians next month though:-D Mucho excitement!
