My fiance and I are traveling down the east coast of USA with a flight from Miami to Rio, then from Rio we would like to go to the Iguazu falls, then to Buenos Aires, across Argentina, then possibly into the northern parts of Chile, all over Bolivia, up through Peru, through Equador and ending in Columbia.
We are tight on money but not in time. (we are on our way back to NZ) looking at $25 a day for 65 days, and a budget of CA$500 for tours, machu piccu etc..
Is this realistic? Can this be done on this kinda budget and time frame while still being able to enjoy ourselves???
Appreciate your help.
25 dollars a day in brasil is virtually impossible. Brasil is the most expensive country in South America. ANd Rio is the most expensive city. One of the things people like doing in brasil is going to the churrascarias (all u can eat meat) and it isnt cheap in Rio. The meat is way better than Argentina. 25 dollars in Argentina could be more feasible.
if you take buses from one city to another, especially long distance, you may be able to save money with the overnight buses.
hmmm yeah thinking we will need a lot more in Brazil, but not too much more, we will be staying in dorm rooms and of course taking over night buses as much as we can for the longer journeys. we are not big partiers so not a lot of money spent on alcohol. definently looking forward to the meat in Argentina thats for sure!
