Melbourne to Syndey - 4 days

Hi guys,

Between Christmas day and New Years eve (although preferably the 29th) we need to get from Melbourne to Sydney. We know although we could fly it would be quick but we reckon we'll miss out on a lot between the two. We're thinking of driving - has anyone done it? Are there any companies we can book our car with now? And whats the best route?

I'd be booking NOW !
From Melb take the road to Lakes Entrance and go up from there ! Thru the centre via Albury, Canberra - nothing but cows ! Via the coastline and there is some beautiful scenic drives. Eden/Bega/Merimbula/Batemans Bay/Durras hell i could keep going - unspoilt really and all of 2km from the water at any time. Great fishing (dont forget fishing licence). Im going to Batemans Bay this weekend coming - ill take some pics
