greek islands hopping-help??

Hi,

Myself and three friends are planning going island hopping in greece for the month of july We're looking for any advice anyone could give us plz!! Can this be done cheaply ish? we are all students! Accomoation is our main worry! any places we've looked up seem expesive.

Is i ok to wait and find a place to stay once on a island?

What islands would you suggest?? we're already planning spending a good week in santorini,as two of us were there last year for a week and it woz amazing

We would be thankful for any suggestions people may have!

It depends what you're into, but if you like nightlife and a lot of young travellers around then Ios is worth considering. It's a pretty small island, with one main town. It's not as picturesque as santorini but it has a couple nice beaches, and it's not quite as built up. There's heaps of bars/clubs in the main town so it's great for partying. It was really cheap for me in September, but July is likely to be more expensive.

Thanks that sounds exactly the type of island we're looking for Santorini was much the same. Would u recommend trying to have accomodation sorted before getting to the islands?

I've been to Santoini, Ios, Naxos and Paros a couple of times island hopping with friends you'll absolutely love it! For a group of girls your age Ios is and absolute must, you won't wana leave when you get there, much livlier than Santorini but not as much to do or see during the day, purely a party island with a couple of very nice beaches, I absolutely loved it!
Naxos is a much bigger island and caters for families mostly but still has plenty of pubs and a couple of niteclubs...really nice place to visit after being in Ios as it's very relaxed, lots of nice restaurants, creperies, ice-cream places and great for some water sports also! Paros is a mix of Naxos and Ios in terms of livliness, with all nightlife based in one area called the 24-hours quare(if I remember correctly!)
If I was going back and had to proritise I'd go 1st Ios, 2nd Santorini, 3rd Naxos and 4th Paros...great places!
I'd def wait until you get off the ferries and make a deal with people at the port for accom, you'll get it much cheaper there than if you booked online in advance. One place I'd def reccommend in Ios is called Rita's Place, really nice setting, staff and pool area.

I was on Ios july last year, its definitley a crazy party island all of the clubs are in the centre of town and within a drukin stagger of most of the accomodation on the island.

I stayed at far out beach club, and could only manage to find a camp site having tried to book a bungalow about 2 weeks before, camping is definetly overated on a party island, its pretty much to hot to sleep past about 8am no matter how passed out u r and loud all the time!! So Unless u are into camping i would definitley book accomodation in advance.

Theres still enough to do on ios during the day if u wanna take a break from partying such as watersports, beaches u can hire a scooter on the island think it was around 30euros 4 24hrs so u can spend some time doing that 2. Plus there are plenty of cool places that dont charge for using their swimming pool.
