Im currently looking through the chinese visa info and getting ready to do the forms when i noticed question 4.7 ( Name of inviter, contact or relative in China ). As a tourist i dont have any of these and didn't think you had to be invited into china. Do i just leave this blank ??

Also what good safe spots are good to list as places to visit on the visa form ? ( not that im lying its just that im dont belive in planning the whole lot before you go )

Thanks
Leon

what's the demand type of your China visa? F for travel and business uses? If yes, invitation letters and hotel reservation paper are needed to issue a vias for you. You can contact some travel agency in hongkong for the visa matter if you do want to travel alone...

When I got my first China visa, I made up destinations and dates on the spot. These questions are a leftover from the bad old days and no one cares where you go in China now. Beijing. Shanghai. Xi'an. Chengdu. Guangzhou.

As a tourist, you don't know anyone in China so leave it blank.

Distances are great there and flights are quick and aren't that expensive. Big towns have "China Travel Service" places. They usually speak some English and can furnish maps, places to visit, book you somewhere cheap to stay, etc.

Hiya, I pre-booked (via email) my first nights accommodation & filled out those details in 4.7... in the 2.5 section, I entered a rough itinerary of where I wanted to go...

Thanks for the replies. I also have one more small problem, well maybe its not a problem at all, im flying out of Vietnam so have no leaving dates ect from China I just plan to get a bus/train accross the border when the visa is close to running out. I dont like to have things to set in stone while travelling i think it takes teh fun out of it all !

Thanks again
