Hi all,

I’ll spend 15 days next August in Morocco and I am a bit confused about planning an itinerary as the more I read the travel guide that I bought the more confused I get.

I’ll fly in and out Marrakech. I’m planning to skip this once North Morocco as well as Meknes, Fez, Casablanca and Rabat as I’ve visited those places in the past. My original idea for this trip is to visit just three or four places to avoid getting run down at the end of the trip and perhaps spend in Marrakech a couple of days each upon arrival and before leaving Morocco.

Here go my queries:
-Atlas: which town/s, how long, what to do and/or see?
-Dessert: which town/s, how long, what to do (other than the outdoor “baking” dessert experience) and see?
-Coast: any other gem town/s other than Essaouira not too far from Marrakech, what to do and/or see?

Many thanks beforehand for your help.

Happy journeys everyone

Hi there! Just joined This forum; and I'll share my old memories about my Moroccan experience! .
the guidebooks are so helpful about the sites that worthwhile ; it also indicate the location. There is a lot to see in Marrakesh the Jamm el fenna is the most famous place in Marrakesh; where the steps are retraced to the main square every evening.
the Medina is kind of a game but it also have some interesting stuff to show; the Atlas could be done in many ways i would advise on taking 2days or go on a trek for few days if your goal is to explore as much as you can; Asni Ouiregan,Ourika Valley...Sittee Fatma ..etc are the most sites that might call your intention while planing such travel to Morocco.

The desert is something else! the whole trip can be admired when being in desert and its experience takes everyone to admire the dunes... here i would double click on taking Merzouga Erg chebbi as the best desert destination to go for.
we hired a minivan (tour on our own) ; we have met a guy who arranged our desert stay; and i would recommend him.
