Yes I've read about this place, seems like you can get some fantastic views of the city from there!

Dani,
If you tire of your 5 days in Hollywierd, hop on the metro Red LIne to Union Station ($1.25/person) and take an Amtrak train ride to Solana Beach or San Diego! ($29 R/T per person)
It's a great ride, especially if it's a clear day (if it is a bit windy that day, that will help), you'll get an over view of the Los Angeles lay out, and when the train gets into south Orange County, it rides right along 20 or so miles of coast we call the Çote Azure of the west.
Solana beach is gorgeous, has a great beach, good shopping and eats. It's a good example of a classic but vibrant California beach town. There is a very nice walk along the Design District across from the train station on Cedros Street.
Further on, the train lets you off in San Diego at a 1930's spanish colonial revival train station smack in the middle of town. The city spreads up a hill on one side and the harbor is on the other, and next door is the Trolly line to take you around, though walking is easy there. San Diego is metropolitan, is beautifully situated, and has a thriving arts/design community. The Gaslight District is a good bet for food and entertainment. Go for a day and you won't be sorry.
Cheers,
