I'm planning to travel from Dublin to LAX with a stopover at Toronto airport. I won't be booking the tickets separately it just says DUB -LAX via YYZ on the travel website.

  • Do I need to collect my baggage and retransfer upon arrival or departure?
  • Is YYZ airport an alright one for connecting flights?.......I'll be travelling alone and never done the whole connecting process....so I'm kinda nervous.....

thanks

Different airlines and airports have different baggage-collecting policies. When you first check in, the ticket agent will let you know if and when you should collect your bags (seeing as you're going to the States, though, I'd guess you'll have to recheck your bags).

I've connected at Pearson once or twice, and it was pretty simple. Check what terminal you arrive at and which one you leave form, then check whether you have enough transfer time. I wouldn't worry--it always seems a lot more complicated than it really is!

YYZ has US Customs built into the airport.

You will need to go through Canada Border Services Agency then baggage claim and then through U.S. Customs and Border Protection. There should be a long delay between flight to give you enough time. US Customs can be hellish. It sucks man.
