Quoting tway

Well, I'm coming up on 36 in a month, so between the scary statistics (which are daunting but a bit exaggerated, I think) and the "let's just see what happens"... well... I think I would have waited longer had it not been for the first part, but it's amazing how the Mommy instincts kick in and I'm ready to Karate chop anyone who tries to bump my bump in the Metro...

I'll be hitting 36 this summer and that thought's crossed my mind too. We hedge between small house?, enough money?, backandforth to ZA...World Cup 2010, Right time?, Right Place?, Right People! But from what I can tell, its never the right time, you never have enough money, the house is never big enough, you're never sure if you're ready and you can just take them with you when you travel. But that still leaves the problem of the world cup soccer 2010. Maybe that will be baby making time?

Ooh--we saw them building the stadiums throughout SA last year. Looks like it'll be a blast!

We have no ambitions for a big house (we don't even have a car), so we went for big enough condo and are planning a trip to see Neal's family in Ireland next May as a test for family travelling. I don't think you can give up such passions so easily, it's just a matter of changing your pace. Whatever's best for you is best! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise...

Well Said! The World Cup should be a blast!!! I love our little house, but its only a 1+ bedroom (with only 1 door on the downstairs toilet), so although it would do for a couple of years, sadly, I think we'd all kill each other (including the dog) if we were in it much longer with a kid! My sister was back/forth from Germany three times last year before my nephew turned 6 months, so I'm sure your trip back to Ireland will go off without a hitch. And in the meantime, Graham and I will let nature take its course...protected course, that is!

You know what they say, Michael--practice makes perfect!

And thank you, Jun!

(As I was reading you post, Michael, the George Baker Selection came on the radio. Coincidences are weird!)
