Quoting Sam I Am

Well, I only got one notification for this last post, so that's encouraging. We're looking into it, but no one seems to have done anything which could have caused this, so there's a theory that our mail server was stressed out and did this. Can you let me know if you are still seeing this?

Just had Kris send a PM to me as a test and I only received one e-mail notification so that's a good thing!

ISince then, I also received double notification about diary entries by Simon (Boulderman) and I don't know how I became subscribed to those.

It's been a while since I've looked at the diary, but if I recall correctly you are automatically subscribed to their diary when you become friends with someone. This was how we set it up in 2002 and clearly that's not optimal.

Ah, makes sense then as I added Simon not long ago. It also explains why I have gotten notifications when Claire (baluba) has posted in her diary. Didn't give it much thought then but with the duplicate notifications for Simon's entries, thought I'd slip the comment in there. I went looking for a way to unsubscribe but didn't find one because one doesn't exist.

I don't seem to be getting them any longer either. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed!

I think the glitch may be back...

Marlis posted in the Foundation thread about an hour ago. I received 2 e-mail notifications. Actually putting my brain to use, I thought both the Foundation and Isadora were subscribed. Nope - just Isadora. Conclusion: The Return Of El Glitcho.

Argh, this is rather annoying, since I didn't receive two emails on that post. Something is obviously borked with the mail server!

Could it be an IP thing? I'll unsubscribe as Isadora and see what happens with the next posting in that thread. I do know that I did not have 2 windows open or anything weird like that when I subscribed. I can't do a "test" reply in the thread since we're not notified of our own postings. Beats me but sorry if it's an IP situation.

------------------

Okay - just "unsubscribed" and it seems I was subscribed twice. Honestly, I know how that happened quite some time ago but this time was not the same. (I've made sure not to make that same mistake a second time.) Again, sorry for whatever glitch may have happened on my end.

ps: Going to try something else and see if it proves to be an IP situation.

Well, I only got one notification on a post you made in one of "my" threads . . .
