Hey

I've realised that Thankgiving will fall during my roadtrip from Las Vegas to San Francisco. I estimate we will be somewhere around LA when it falls.

does anyone have ideas of what to do during the Thanksgiving Vacation when everyone else will be spending time with their families? Does everything (shops, bars, restaurants) close during this period?

Would it be possible to go on a cheap cruise or is everything overpriced over this time?

Any help would be appreciated as I've never experienced Thanksgiving and know very little about it

The legal holiday is Thursday Nov 26. Most businesses close but the tourist facilities stay open (Disneyland in Anaheim is busy, for example). Most Americans take the four day period off work, but everything is back to normal on Friday.

As far as cruises, search the travel engines for your preferred dates. There are deals out there. Carnival Cruises sails out of Long Beach and other lines out of Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro.
