Forte dei Marmi, Italy

Has anyone visited Forte dei Marmi in Italy? My 70-year-old parents (they are young at heart!) have an opportunity to rent an apartment there for 5 weeks. It's hard to find anything specific about the place so I would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom from my fellow travellerspointers!

Well I have not been to the place myself and unfortunately my Italian colleague was only able to tell me that they have a lot of marble there.. but I found a Dutch review website with some good reviews on the place!

The place is very popular among the more richer Italians and therefore it is not a cheap place to go to but according to all the reviewers it is worth the money.
The town is not so big and has a lot of exclusive stores. You have to rent a sunbed & umbrella to be allowed on the beach, which is 30 euro a day (so, expensive) but the beach, the food and service is supposed to be really good.
So it depends on the amount of money they want to spend, if they do not mind paying for good service this seems to be a perfect place to be.

What I do know is that the region this village is in (Toscane) is very beautifull. You will be able to see stunning nature, eat delicious food and the cities Pisa, Sienna, Florence and Lucca are in close reach.

It is very beautiful and elegant. Lots of famous people go there too!
It is close to Viareggio and Lucca and not far from the Cinque Terre.

Going to the beach is a bit expensive but it has got its charm for service and look!

Great restaurants too!
