Yea, I am going to Bangkok in May ... then headed to the Full moon party on Ko Phangan, then Ko Samui. I'm flying from Bangkok to KL for safety, then taking the train to JB and Singapore and flying to Bali... I should be in Bali by the end of the month.

So my questions!!

Are the Phuket and Ko Phi Phi areas washed out in the middle of May? Is it still a nice time to go there or will it rain constantly?

Any suggestions about Chiang Mai .. it's not on my route, and I don't know how or when I would see it. Is it worth it or should I skip it?

Where are the best beaches in Malaysia ... and will they be washed out in the middle of May?

And 5 days in Bali ... at the end of May .... is it going to rain a crap ton?

I'm just really paranoid about the weather.

Well the monsoon season here is Oct-March so May is generally quite hot - ideal for beach visits. Those islands in malaysia have beautiful beaches such as Pulau Redang, Tioman and Perhentian. U can go scuba diving or snorkelling there.

Singapore is even hotter and to be frank, the sea in those malaysian islands is much beautiful and clearer than the sea our beaches are situated next to. However many tourists love to suntan at Sentosa's beaches. However weather in Singapore can be quite unpredictable - it can be very hot for half a day and rain heavily the other half of the day. So if you are going to beach in Singapore, do bring along umbrella.

How long you will plan to stay in Thailand?

Chiang Mai is very beautiful but very hot and hot now.
If you come in this month, I' ll recommence you to go there.
It has the Songkran Water Festival, you will enjoin that.

Your schedule, Do you skip a short trip in Bangkok?

Normally, This season is good for the beach.
Only sometimes will occur unexpected case such as nagis storm.
However Thailand has many beaches and beautiful places to enjoy.

If you plan to visit Bangkok, I will welcome to help you.

Smile and Enjoy to travel in Thailand.

I would recommend Perhentian Island and Redang Island if you are in West Malaysia.
As for my opinion on the best beaches in Malaysia, I would say most are located at East Malaysia. I recommend Sipadan Island at Sabah. it only allows 120 people to go to the island per day and you need to apply for the permit beforehand. This is one of the nicest i've visited in all malaysia island. there are also others nearby such as Mabul Island, Mataking Island.

Maybe you can try the Iisan area.... I am in Ubon Ratchathani now.... Its wonderful.... Went over to see the 2 colours river...where the Mekong River meets the Moon River.... There are 2 colours...

Spent 2 days in Udon Thani for Songkran... Amazing atmosphere.... Went to Phu Phrabat National Park. A marvelous ridgeline with numerous sandstone edifices several thousand years old.

Beautiful town of Nongkhai too.....
