josh742 has indicated that this thread is about Malaysia

I'm planning to go to KL on my own in July...

Can anybody suggest nice, friendly places where I am likely to meet people?

I've already looked at LeVillage hostel, Travellers Palm and a few others.

Hi Josh,

There are many good budget hostels where you can meet fellow travellers.
Red Palm in Kl is one, located at 5 Tengkat Tong Shin,Kl at the Bukit Bintang area..right in the tourism and hotel belt. You have to contact our Tourism Malaysia office for this re rates etc.

The others are Corona Inn, Replica Inn, Cititel Express Bintang Warisan and Comfort Lodge. Most hostels mentioned here are within the Bukit Bintang Area. Of course there is always the YMCA which is nearer to Petaling Street (China Town) and within walking distance of KL Sentral and LRT stations.
Log into the blog below for more information on travel within Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia's contact number. Get Google map on Bukit Bintang area KL.

I stayed at Red Palm and loved it. Small, clean and cozy hostel that is centrally located. Met a few great people there, although I had my own personal tour guide in KL (aka. TP Hien ;)). Would definitely stay at Red Palm again, but apparently the Green Hut is just as good.
