I am seriously thinking of going to Toronto next year to live and work. Could anybody give me some info on what its like and some good things to do?

Toronto has around 2 million people in it, and 4 million in the greater metro area. It's a very multi-cultural city, so you get lots of neighbourhoods with ethnic restaurants and such. The night-life is alright, but it's not as hopping as some places.

It's a very safe city for walking around. Try and find a place on the subway line or one of the main street car lines. It'll make the place much nicer.

Michael, can you provide some details on where you will be working? That'll help me provide you some info on where you might want to look at living and what is around the area.

Hi Michael,
When I went to 'Tronno' (as the locals seem to pronounce it!), I read a good description in a guide book.
" New York, but run by the Swiss."
But don't let that put you off !! It's a great city with plenty to do. The CN tower is obvious, but there's also the SKydome next to it for baseball matches.
And of course Niagara Falls is about an hours or so drive away. When you've seen the falls, drive on to Niagara-on-the-Lake, which is a much prettier town and was apparently the first 'capital' of Canada.

I've usually seen the local prouncation spelt Trawna. The key to saying the name of the city like a local is to say "Drawn" but with a T instead of a D as the first letter, and end with "ah" (soft a).
