Hi, Going to aus late may/ early june for up to 6 months. Wondering if anyone who has been or has some knowledge could answer these questions. thanks.

How much is the average amount to spend in 1 day including accomdation and food (hostel). ?

Is car insurance as exspensive as it is in the UK for someone under 21?

How much is a pint?

How much is pack of fags?

Oh me and my mate in sydney for a while, then traveling up the east coast to Cairns and just bowling around that area, if you wanted to know .

thanks again

Lucas

A rough guide (depending on how you live, what activities, how often you go from place to place, how much you drink, etc) - could be anywhere around $50-90AU a day.

Car insurance would probably be expensive :P

Our alcohol and cigarettes are quite heavily taxed/regulated.
A pint should set you back around $5-8AU.
A pack of cigarettes is around $10-12AU

A word about the timetable you have planned - June in Sydney is mid winter and not too warm, so I would head north first (Cairns will be warmer for sure!) then head back down the coast stopping in at all the great beaches and towns on the way in the springtime as it warms up (September onward) getting back to Sydney in time for the Christmas party season! Just a suggestion... :)
