I was just wondering if anyone could give some insight to traveling with a eurail pass...is it as easy as they make it seem? can you hop on and off as you please? do the trains run often? in order to find a time table do you have to look at each country's train system? any information would be greatly appreciated! happy travels...
just got back from a month in europe. my first time there. the eurail pass was great to have. i had a 21 consecutive day pass which allowed me to hop on and off most every train some high speed and night trains carried an additional supplement of around 15 euro.
when you get your eurail pass in the mail they send a europe timetable with it which was fairly accurate and not too complicated to use.
i went to europe with pretty much no itinerary. just a general idea of the cities i wanted to hit so the 21 day pass was great for me. If you have a good idea of your itinerary though it will save you money to get a pass that is a little more limited. the eurail website explains everything pretty accurately.
hope this helps. good travels.
