Hello, i am off on my holiday in less than a month and need a bit of help about opening up an English bank account.

I am also a British citizen with a British passport, so will this make it easier for me to walk into a bank and open up an account? And i will have an address where i will be staying also.

And my friend, she has Australian passport only, whats the best way for her to open up an account before we leave? (Preferably not with high fees in the processing!)

Thanks

There are quite a few you could try, Natwest, HSBC, Halifax, these are a few of the main banks used in England. My boyfriend is australian and he had no problem opening a temporary bank account when he came over, tell your friend it may be easier for her to open an account when she gets to the UK, there won't be a problem I'm sure. Having a british passport will only help you further, so good luck! hope this has helped!
Have you been to England before? you are not coming at the best time of year! (although the weather is always crap!)
