Hi Everyone,

So I'm going to be in Berlin for 6 days total (I've been there before, so I have seen most of the sites). I'm thinking of taking a side trip to Prague but need some feedback.

The bus is E44 and the train is E68...since I'm going for a 24 hour period, which do you think is the best option?
On that note, I'll be in Prague for exactly 24 hours...should this give me enough time to see the main sites? I'm not a museum type of guy.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't travel that far for a measly 24 hours. Why not stay in Germany? Leipzig comes to mind, which is a really nice city. Or Dresden, also nice.

Quedlingburg would also be a good option instead of Dresden or Leipzig.

The bus to Quedlinburg departs from Berlin Ostbahnhof at 7 am. You'd have to return by train, I think.

If you are going to Quedlinburg sent me a message, I can help you with further planning.

But if you are set on Prague I suggest taking the train. It is usually faster than bus and if you book in advance through http://www.reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en you can get special offers for 19 EUR one-way.

Definitely the train to Prague. The train from Berlin to Prague is nice, comfortable, and easy. You can see all the main sites in Prague in 24 hours and partake in some of the wonderful beer and pubs.

Love the Prague

Thanks for all your advice guys! I managed to find a bus (Student Agency) that leaves Berlin at 1155 PM arriving in Prague at 500 AM and then leaving Prague again at 1155PM arriving Berlin at 430 AM for E56. I figure that I'll be sleeping on the bus, saving me the cost of a hostel, and costing me only one day instead of two days.
I just wish there was a cheaper way to Prague; but I can't complain I suppose. The Bahn had tickets for E78!

All in all, I think that I might as well go see Prague, even if it is for only such a short period of time...when will I ever be 4 hours from Prague again?

If I may ask, how much did you pay for the bus?

I ask because it is generally not very difficult to get the special 19-EUR one-way offers for trip to Prague.

I paid E56. Deutche Bahn was a little expensive; tickets came to E78 - E120. I suppose I didn't book it too far in advance.
