Last Post - Not Updating

Travel Forums System Talk Last Post - Not Updating

1. Posted by james (Travel Guru 4136 posts) 7y

The "last post" details don't seem to be updating; at least for the post of "TP Grooves - Music To Travel To" in the Off Topic section.

I made a post some time ago, and it is still saying that the last post is by "Herr Bert" (even when I refresh the page)

No big deal, just didn't know if this meant bigger problems.

James

UI've just put a "test" post to "Which rock / pop stars share your birthday" in Off Topic. This seems to be upating without problems, but the above post is still playing up.

When I just checked OT - James' name did not appear as the last poster for me either. I have since replied in that thread and Isadora is now listed as the last poster.

I have seen the same situation with other users every so often but it never lasts too long. Usually the real last poster's name appears within an hour or so. I know it happened with a couple of Heather's posts about 3-4 weeks ago, but again, updated is a short time. As usual, I thought it was an "Isa glitch".

As usual, I thought it was an "Isa glitch".

I suspect it was, as you did say in that thread that you'd deleted a spammer's post inside it. Want to bet that was the cause.

Okay, that makes me curious on why...

I deleted a spam. I then posted and my name appeared as the last. Then Anthony posted and I know he was listed as last (because I viewed his post) and finally Rene posted and he showed as last. Why would James' not appear when the other 3 did?

Well, obviously Sam or Peter (don't know which of them touched this code last) didn't just build in a function "makeThingsBreakIfIsaWasHere()", but instead they went for the far more devious "makeThingsBreakInCompletelyIllogicalWaysIfIsaWasHere()", and that's why it seemed unbroken for the first three replies after, but then the fourth broke it after all.

*nods* (That's my answer, and I'm sticking to it!)

Phew!

I thought James meant this was his last post and he was never updating us again...

Well, for a small sum of money this could be arranged.

Actually I tell a lie; it would take a large sum of money
