Travellers should not be worried. Things should be fine now. I have read from Bangkok Post an hour ago. Red-shirts leader has already announced to end the protest in Bangkok! And Sonkran will be exptended until this Friday!

Yes, everything is now nice and quiet in Bangkok and the traffic, in particular, is sweet..

Red Shirt announced to end the protest in Bkk because it is no use to do that during Songkran because most of the people went back to their hometowns. Maybe they will be back soon when people come back to the city... I was in Udon few days ago and the Red Shirts were blocking the Highway into Udon... We cant enter the city and the police asked us to use the alternative way which is a little bit far... They used a huge truck to block the Highway... But things were under control and people were enjoying Songkran as if nothing happens...
