Help with the internal flights part of my travel plan!

Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean Help with the internal flights part of my travel plan!

Hi guys,

I need some help with the following dilemma...

I'm flying to Florida on 21st May, then heading down to Venezuela (Caracas) to meet a friend at the end of May, with whom i will then travel to Columbia, Peru etc, possibly making my way to Rio, with the stops on the way not confirmed yet, but definately want to do the Inca Trail, and see Iguazu Falls. From Rio (or wherever we finish up), we would like to fly to New York for a few days, then head back to the UK mid July.

We are in the process of booking this all up at the moment and i've managed to find flights with Virgin that let you fly to one destination (Florida) and return from another (New York) so that's no problem. I am, however, finding the internal flights a bit tricky to sort out. Can anyone suggest what might be the best way to do the Internal flights part of this trip? I have a fairly decent sized budget (but i'm not rich!) Any suggestions/help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Ben.

hm. I hope you'll be buying carbon offsets: it looks as though you're mainly gonna spend your vacation on board a plane.

How can you know if the OP didn't mention how long he is going to travel?
I think it's better to give either an answer or try to solve the problem he/she has, instead of moaning about touristic spots, flying, carbon offsets etc, or otherwise just ignore the topic.
Would also be better for me. You should form a couple with Swept Away Or go to the LP forum, which loves these reactions.

Ben, check this link, it might be of use regarding airpasses in South America which normally are a better deal than arranging separate flights.

Thanks alot Utrecht, that's very helpful, and much more of the sort of thing i was after unlike Bentivogli's reather unhelpful comment! ;)

I'll be travelling for total of 8 weeks, so i'm not planning on getting too many internal flights (perhaps one or two if necessary) The main problem i can see is getting back to New York at the end of all.
