WHAT ARE THE BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN USA, EAST COAST?????

Hey everyone,

Was just wondering what would be the best places (the most amazing, awesome, different, incredible, fascinating) to visit along the east coast? Ranging from Washington up to and probably a little past NYC...

Thoughts? Suggestions?

D.C. - Smithsonian Air and Space Museum on the Mall.

Depending on how much time you have, Id really consider going that bit further north into Boston, Rhode Island and on into Maine. That part of the country is so different from anywhere else in the US

If you do decide to head on up to Rhode Island and Massachusetts, stop at the Mystic Seaport (Mystic, Connecticut) on your way. Also, a stop in Groton, Connecticut to tour the submarines is interesting, fun and informative.

Oh, and I forgot to mention--Baltimore has a great aquarium (National Aquarium) in their Inner Harbor area.
This area also has some great crab restaurants, although the best one is actually 35 miles east of DC (Harris' just off of Hwy 50 on Kent Island). Another intesting stop in Maryland is Havre de Grace. This tiny town is very historic looking--and has the noteworthy distinction of having almost been named the nation's capitol.

(When they were deciding on whether to build a new capitol or just move the capitol from New York, the final two spots chosen were Washington, DC and Havre de Grace, Maryland.)

i have done parts of the east coast, i went from NY to key west to miami, cape cod ( amazing little place) Boston, Orlando and one night stop overs in a few other places...i would recommend all of these places as the east coast is sooo beautiful

Dont forget to Visit Walt Disney World if going to Florida...

I would also recommend as mentioned before to go a little further north to Boston. There are some great attractions and something for just about everybody. Also, I have to second Sophie's response about Cape Cod. It is a great little place to see with great views, friendly people, and has fantastic little patios to enjoy lunch or dinner.

Some will most likely recommend NYC.

Give Boston a try while you're here. A small city with lots of character.
