Here's another silly idea of mine. Stayed up too late last night and probably had too much to drink (what's this PROBABLY you speak of?).

Anyway, why don't the Travellerspoint Powers That Be, living in their magical, mystical land of travel omnipodence design a simple badge that all member or even members of a certain status can buy, be presented with, or whatever so that the wearer can be identified at a glance. TP could make money and promote the site and people could meet randomly as they travel. Can't be that difficult to organise, or is there something I'm not thinking of?

Actually, you can buy TP t-shirts, buttons, fridge magnets, coffee mugs and more at CafePress.

Example: CafePress - Buttons

I know there is a page there somewhere with all the TP items displayed but without more coffee (from my TP mug), I'm not finding it presently.

You can also print out TP luggage tags and business cards from TP.

Who carries a fridge with them when they travel?

Good point. But, they really are useful for us vicarious travelers who are stuck vacationing in our own back yard drinking coffee or rum from our TP coffee cups. Could ask the same question about those - who's going to travel with a ceramic cup?! Guess the luggage tags would be more up your alley, Derek.

ps: I'll think of you traveling to exotic places while I sip my coffee, staring at my fridge magnet and wearing my TP t-shirt. My button is on my winter jacket so will be transfered to my raincoat shortly. ;)

Now see - if he'd had a TP fridge magnet on it, you'd know he was a TP member. (I don't think he's joined yet - maybe we should contact him...)

Didnt even know about TP products! Must get some immediately

When I was travelling, I met a lot of people who sewed badges/flags onto their rucksacks - I have a few sewn on my own now. A TP one would be a nice one to have!
