hey folks were two fun loving males from scotland, were in seattle and wanting to know any must see's on the way to la our rough plan is to hit portland, san fran dwon the coast a bit and then head inward to vagas then were on to my parents in texas then back acrros and up through san D and final flying out of LA,,,
so far seattl hasnt really impressed us, kinda calm for our liking, looking for good night life, outdoor activites, watersports, but alos to chill out musiums etc..
will be staying in hostels and getting grey hound most of the way.. will be looking around a month from seattle to texas..
were also both in to bikes is it easy to rent motorcycles..??
any advise would be great, also iv travelled all arund thailand and oz so hit me up for any info/....
Well, you are about 250 miles from the Grand Canyon if you are in Vegas. I think you can do it in four hours if you're driving.
Carmel By The Sea is cool.
Portland is a very hip and green city.
Going down the coast is excellent. There are some caves in the sea cliffs. I can't remember exactly where, though.
Try to go past Crater Lake if possible--or through either the Lassen Volcanic Park (okay) or the Redwood National Park (better) between Portland and San Francisco.
It's kind of tough to recommend too many places, because taking a bus kind of limits your options.
Once you get to SF, there's lots to see--although it will be a bit cool here right now for the next few days. Hopefully it will warm back up a bit by the time you get here.
Between SF and Las Vegas, considering either staying on the coast and visiting Carmel and Monterey and maybe Santa Cruz or else cutting inland to go to Lake Tahoe or Yosemite and then continuing on down to Las Vegas.
