To get out of that budding phase, post more on the forums, have your photos or photos or blog entries featured, or contribute to the travel guide. The last one appears to be the fastest way to climb up the "ranks".

I don't think so. Just now saw a full member's profile.

"Contributing to the guide" in the post you're quoting, is when you're contributing on the order of tens to hundreds of thousands of characters; the difference between 68 and 1003 characters in your two examples is not large enough to matter much for this purpose.
Also, the human component is very important with triggering a move between members statuses - if some forum posts are rated highly, that matters a whole lot.

Anyway, don't try to understand the specific algorithm too much; it's convoluted, and there's many factors which matter a tiny little bit. It's meant to reflect reality (e.g. "messy and imperfect" ;)), not be something which can be easily understood and gamed.
Just keep posting as you've been doing - helping other people - and the imperfect algorithm will catch up swiftly enough.

Hi Sander,
I did not mean to offend anybody here.

Just keep posting as you've been doing - helping other people -

I have been doing exactly that. My comments/replies are informative. I don't participate here for the heck of it or to increase no. of posts in forums.

the difference between 68 and 1003 characters in your two examples is not large enough to matter much for this purpose.

I didn't know it was just the no. of characters !! Quite surprised. I thought it's based on the info we provide.
Again, more no. of characters does not always mean more information. I genuinely feel human factor should play a better role here in deciding. :)

Nothing else.. no photos, no blog etc.. and her personal website is also visible.

I'd be curious who this is actually; could you send me a message with the link if you don't want to post it here? The link to the website shows because they are a Full Member, and I'm guessing that this member has a lot of featured blog posts or forum threads; both of those will boost you quite a bit! One thing to note is that the status only changes once per day, so if you put in a lot of effort on one day, it might not make any visible change until some time later that day.
