Where to stay in Cannes?

Hi Everyone,

I'm from Singapore and I'm attending the Film Fest on May 11-16, 2008 at the Esplanade Georges Pompidou, Cannes, France. Please advice me where to stay. I want to stay near by the event place preferably walking distance at a reasonable rate.
