How much do you think it would cost me to travel for six months to the following countries on a medium budget?

India > Nepal > Tibet > China > Cambodia > Thailand with most of the time in india, china and Thailand.

And also maybe adding in the Andaman islands and travelling by bus or train nearly all the way.

Thanks for any help.

Depends on what your interests are. Are you a party animal? What degree of luxury do you require in your accommodation needs?

It's also a huge area to be covered if you don't propose to fly anywhere.

I am doing a similar route to start. I will be continuing to OZ, NZ and US after. I will also be including Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia and Indonesia and I am planning the trip overland via train and bus. I have budgeted about £3500 for basic costs, food accomodation and transport for just over 6 months in these places. I am going on the cheap, so if you want better accomodation/food/transport add more.

I'm not a party animal, but i want to be able to spend money on good experiences.

I think I have enough money to do whatever I like, but unfortunately my gf doesn't.

She is aiming for about £3500 the same as you said, but we will be making a short detour to visit a friend in Japan. I know this will be expensive, but we will be staying only a few weeks in his house and so as long as we don't eat out & we do use his car, it shouldn't eat all our money ....... i hope.

I'd like to say the distance we would travel would be minimised in price by the fact it's asia, but I'm not sure. I've been to Thailand and know that reasonably well, but neither my gf or I know about India Nepal China or Cambodia.

Are there any things that are really good that I should push the leaving date back and save for??? Do you think these are the best countries in asia to choose??

Thank you all by the way, this is really:) helpful.

Nepal & India is the cheapest way to travel and depends on your number of days. I think in Nepal medium budget US$ 20 - 40 per day basis and Tibet quite high but if you taking 7night 8 days cost would be Us$ 1250.00 approx including visa, flight, meals and accommodation on budget tour. If you need more info please contact me here and i will give you full information but write me how many days u want to stay in Nepal & Tibet........
