What to see Sydney to Queensland

Travel Forums Australia / New Zealand & The Pacific What to see Sydney to Queensland

I'm flying to Sydney this evening from Singapore.

Can anyone recommend a good reasonably priced hostel?

I'm hoping to spend most of my month in Queensland so want to do Sydney to Queensland quite quickly. What would you recommend I see in NSW? I'm looking for the busy backpacker places with lots of drinking, partying and nice girls.

I like the idea of doing some surfing on the way up but imagine the tours could be quite dear. If I can find a van to share I'll be tempted to buy a second hand board. Does anyone know a good place to look for other travellers doing the same route?

Also I've way overspent in SEA and I only have around UK3,300 to last 1 month in Aus and 1 month in New Zealand? Is this ok or will I be pushing it. I want to do loads of acitivities.

Thanks for all the tips

Byron Bay is probably your best option for some surfing, you might even meet some friends who are happy to show you how to surf for free. The hostel notice board is a good place to find people heading up the coast, sorry can't recommend a hostel.

I found a good YHA hostel by the central train station. Accommodation is dear hear so I think I'm going to try and do some couchsurfing as I head up the coast.

Try Hotelscombined After you've filled in your data and the first page loads, click the column header called "Price" to load the results by cheapest first.

If you want something more in the way of a budget hotel, try the Budget Accommodation tool on this site. To find it, click the Travellerspoint logo button (above "Forums") and you'll find it about halfway down on the ight hand side of the page.

Blinq, he is asking for actual recommendations from people that have been to a hostel, not your continual posts of things you find on the internet, and have no personal experience with. Your really not doing anyone any favors here with your posts.

Wanderitch. Blue Parrot in Kings Cross, Sydney, was a nice family run hostel. But your probably already on your way by now.
