Ouch...

Blinq and Redpaddy, could you pretty please stop fighting?

You both are free to disagree about the quality of the other's advice, but please keep it to yourself. The best way to respond is usually to ignore the other post you disagree with and write a better post yourself. Without calling the other on it. It is not very nice from either of you to behave like that. Just my two cents.

I've been to Amsterdam and liked it. I've seen the Red Light district (was sort of unavoidable as the hostel was close to the Damrak) and feel no need to go back. Nothing to really interest me there, as sex, drugs and rock'n'roll means "just rock'n'roll" for me. A reason for me to go back to Amsterdam would be the museums and art galleries, not the other "attractions" that draw other young people.

At anybody currently living in the Netherlands:

I'm looking at the ANWB Fietsroute Atlas Nederland Noord 1: 75 000. I am considering to buy it online through mailorder. Could you pretty please try to find out whether the maps in this cycling atlas show camping sites? Maybe pop into a bookstore in the next few days? That would be most helpful.

The problem with Redpaddy is the slightest of criticisms and he goes off the deep end and starts trashing my posts. So I have no alternative but to bring the matter to his attention which sends him flying off on a tangent once again. The guy need to learn to be a bit more circumspect before putting digital pen to paper.

Maia, I can't guarantee, but I'm 99,99% certain that campsites are included in the maps of the fietsatlas, as they are in all ANWB maps. I don't have time to visit a shop for you (besides, the book doesn't regularly sell in normal bookstores, only in ANWB stores), but if you want to be absolutely sure, either e-mail or phone their customer service at:

The Fiets Atlas does have campsites marked on it.
