Hi there

My names Daniel im from the UK and i work a full time job which sucks cause im limited to 25 days holiday a year. Ive decided that next year im going to take all my holiday in one bulk and go to Asia solo to explore. I want to see the big city sights and assume that Japan, China and Hong Kong are the best for this? Im looking for some awesome modern and past architecture. But i would also like to escape the city and explore them more cultured areas/countries. Can anyone recommend any countries/places i should visit? Is 25 days long enough? or should i try and get some more holidays out of my boss?;)

Also the great wall of China, obviously a must?

Thanks for reading Dan

also what would be the best time of year to travel? I was thinking around September?

Add India to it. I am sure you will like it. Yes visiting all the places will not be possible. Then again you can have a quick look at few of the famous places eg Taj Mahal etc.
Also remember that Asia is by and large hot and can be humid at times too.
Winter is best but September isnt bad either.
Shoot any question if you have any.

Cheers.. all the best.

Cheers for the advice. I assume youve travelled there? What would you recommend as your top places?

There's no way you get round all those countries in that time!
My advice would be to pick one country and see what you can of that. (save up for your next trip!)

Last year we spent a month travelling around just 1 province of China (Yunnan) so for many
places you won't get to see that much.
Yunnan was amazing and has so many diferent landscapes/cultures/buildings/peoples etc.. to offer - The very top is
just onto the Tibetan plateau while the south is Jungle.

The Great wall of China, although has to be done, was a bit disapointing - its just full of American tourists, very slippery and in the heat was exhausting!
Bejing is huge, so if you go there, you have to know exactly what you want to see, you can't just wander around!
China seemed quite good for having old towns in or close to modern cities.
For modern cities, I would asume Hong Kong, Japan or South korea would be good, though we've never been.

As for the time of year - september - depends on where you go.
