Age is unimportant.
All you need to travel, is the enthusiasm and the money. Most students I've met up with have either borrowed madly on their credit cards, have rich parents, or most of all - worked weekends to get the money together. The most widely done job, is in the catering industry (where I started off). They could be washing up, making beds, waiting on, cooking, receptionist, the list is long. But you know, just a few months working only at weekends (with tips), can put a lot of money in your pocket. What I have done for years - and still do now, is have a small extra bank account that every couple of weeks or so I transfer the odd amounts into from my bills account. Within a short time, I've enough for a flight. Little things like that all add up to a better time away.

Every time you say that I want to kick you in the knee! ;)

I'm 35, work full time and hunt for bargains--that's how I travel!

I work for an agency, which (within reason) gives me as much time off as I want. I still get the holiday pay too - just the UK statutory days. After that, with a couple of weeks notice of leaving and coming back (so they've got my return date on file for return to work), I can have as much time off as I want. Or to rephrase that last sentence.... As I can afford!!!!

42, the meaning of life allegedly. As for my financial status, I was fortunate to purchase my humble abode in a relatively cheap post-industrial city when prices were sensible, hence I do not owe a penny on it. I am also fortunate enough to have relatively secure employment, from which I have taken 4 days of my annual leave entitlement this week (the Monday being a public holiday) and very nice weather it has been too, though I've stayed at home and done a couple of day trips.

Somewhat off-topic to the title of the thread, I drove down to White Horse Hill - or up to White Horse Hill maybe I should say - by the Ridgeway on the Oxon/Berks border, stopping off in Wantage first and coming back through Lechlade and Burford, both of which would be nice to stop off in sometime but are difficult to park in, then Chipping Norton and Banbury, which I have been to before. Today I drove into Stratford and found somewhere to park for free on a quiet residential road, but I'm not saying where, then through Evesham where I didn't stop on to Tewkesbury. As well as just a couple of days out, it was a good way of testing out the new camera. Additionally, I have only recently got the car for work, my journeys all being to the south and south-west of the Midlands, hence I am testing out routes away from my normal journeys. Usually I travel by train but of course there are places you simply cannot get to conveniently by public transport.

I'm twenty-seven, like long walks on the beach, starry nights, and basking in the glow of a full moon...
