Travel Forums Asia 3 wks for China/HK, India, Cambodia and Indonesia - enough?

Friends and I are planning a trip to Asia and we're hoping to fit in as much as we can while we're there. We figure that 3-5 days in each should be enough but we're still not sure considering travel etc whether we'll just feel rushed (I guess unavoidable). We're still trying to iron out the details so don't really have exact locations besides...

Indonesia - Bali
India - friend there is sketching this out for us
Cambodia - Ankor Wat
China - historical like great wall and forbidden city
HK - just to see

Just my 2 cents, but I believe you're dead wrong to spend 3 weeks for an entire continent! Even 3 weeks in each country would be a disservice.

We really don't have the luxury of time. And I've traveled a bit - I don't think you need to spend months in a place to get a sense of a culture / location and have an unforgettable experience. I do agree that spending more time instead of fitting so much in a small span of time is not ideal either. But I don't think any of us want to dedicate 3 weeks to just one country. We don't know when we'll have the opportunity to go again.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is whether it makes sense to leave out China / HK for another trip. Sounds like it would be more enjoyable in cooler months.

India is a definite as we have committments there. Cambodia we're psyched for because of Ankor Wat. Indonesia we want for the beaches

I would say cut out some of those countries and spend a little more time in the others. For example a week in 3 places.

3-5 days for India means that u will be flying into India, visiting Delhi and seeing the Taj at Agra and flying out of the country!!!

You will be using alot of your time flying and settling down from country to the next instead of actually enjoying yourself. Cut down on some countries.

HK and China is easily combined. Where are you going to first?
