Hello,

I would like to visit southern Patagonia in december. I will probably have about 2-3 weeks and will surely visit torres del paine, parque Nacional Los Glacieres, and fitz roy. Is it possible to do this all by bus? I know there are connections between the cities but are there also busses to the parks?
I will probably fly to Punta Arenas and I was wondering if Ushuaia and surroundings is worth the detour?
Also, do Chili or Argentina require a visum if you arrive from another south american country and you stay less than a month?

Thanks in advance

Fitz Roy and Torres del Paine can easily be reached by bus. For FR, go to El Chaltén from El Calafate. The village is bordering on the park, for which to my knowledge you don't pay an entrance fee. Busses to TdP are leaving frequently from Puerto Natales. The portion of Los Glaciares that is easily accessible can be reached from El Calafate by local bus: look here.

If you go to Punta Arenas anyway, Ushuaia is definitely worth a visit. Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego is wonderful, and not very busy with tourists.

Visa regimes in Argentina and Chile are generally based on reciprocity: if Chileans and Argentinians need a visa to enter your country, you will need one, too.
