Scariest flight was on Aer Lingus to NY out of Shannon. First they evacuated the entire airport, then when we told them our flight number the response was, "Well good luck to you then", after asking for numbers to our next of kin. There was horrible turbulence the entire trip and you were lucky to get served anything at all. We practically kissed the ground when we landed!
I also had a flight from San Diego to London Gatwick via St. Louis. Sat on the tarmac in San Diego and missed my connection in St. Louis. That would be OK except my 17 year old son DID make the flight to the UK. ( Naturally, I had all the reservation info, the British Pounds in hand etc.) He had never travelled abroad before and landed in London 24 hours before me. Of course, the airline refused to tell me if he had made the flight or not due to him being a minor. They did put me up at the King George hotel overnight in St. Louis as I thought...is this some kind of cruel joke?) Naturally, I got no sleep that night at all.
