You have to appreciate how massive Brazil is. It was a minimum 17hrs by bus every point i visited. The buses are relatively cheap considering they cover such long distances--although theyre not as nice as the ones in argentina or chile. You may want to look into a Brazil Airpass--but I dont have specific info on that. My advice is to limit you travel in that month to a defined area--dont try to do too much.

Alot of people travel btwn brazil and argentina via foz de iguazu. Or you can go via uruguay (there is a ferry that links colonia and ba).

Travelling by bus is, in my opinion, by far the best and cheapest way to get round Brasil. When I was there I travelled mainly on night buses, meaning that the long journeys were spent sleeping and I did not have to fork out for overnight accomodation. Its a little bumpy at first but once you get used to it you can sleep as well on these buses as in any bed. It is very easy to get around this way.

As stated above, there are two ways to get to Argentina, either via Uruguay or via Iguazu. The iguazu falls are definitely worth a visit so if you are going to see them anyway you may as well go that way. While you are in Foz do iguazu you may also want to pop over to Paraguay for the day (Ciudad del Este), but I would not advise more than a daytrip there. It is good if you are after cheap electrical goods!!

Hope this helps!
