Hi guys,

In the forums, there is always a lot of questions around public transport and generally "how to get around" certain cities and places; particularly how to get around quickly and cheaply.

Anyway, my suggestion is for you guys to pick a list of cities from around the world, obtain the URL to their public transport sytem, and place all of these URLs on one "Public Transport" page on this site.

Hi James,

Sorry I didn't answer this earlier.. I do see your point. There are actually some sites in our links directory that have that kind of information (in the transportation category). If someone were to get together a list like you suggest though, it would certainly be worth adding to the directory. We're always trying to improve on the resources in there (and everywhere else on the site).

Hi Peter/James,

I've already got a set of links for European ones (both Transport and general info/tourist stuff) which i keep up to date for work/frineds because i'm the idiot people always ask!!! - Would be quite happy to pass that over for you put up somewhere. I can also put together a list of certain non Euro ones if required. I've actually been meaning to do it for a while, but haven't got around to it. Have also got links to (for example) all the Euro Rail companies, most of the major ferry/bus/coach/budget air companies etc which you can use if you want as well.

Any use?

btw, one thing i was also considering doing, but will take some time, is putting together a list of connections (route, time frame, approx cost) from the Budget airports to the main cities they "serve" as most of them are in the middle of nowhere and don't have a straight forward option. That be of interest as well??

Hi Rich,

If you want to forward those links on to me, I'd be happy to add them to our directory.

Re: the budget airports connections - that's a great idea. There will be a better system for such articles soon, probably best to wait till then to post it. Kind of funny coming from someone who doesn't fly though isn't it ;) hehe
