I never saw so many 7/11's in my life! Stand outside any 7/11 in Bangkok and look down the street - you'll probably be able to see 2 more of the same. Why so many? At least there are different types in Thailand - some specialize in junk food, and others are mini-markets. Has anyone ever counted them? Chiang Mai has quite a few too.

And they dont sell beer after 10 or 11.

In China, they have WOO WOO and it has the THAI FLAG as it colors, like the strips of the store. My Thai travel buddy that week, rush to the store and started speaking in Thai to everyone. I told him dude its a CONVENIENCE and its everywhere in West China. He said pointing at the glass walls it the THAI flag. Yes it is the Thai flag... When is the diplomatic protest coming???

Wawa - is that the semi-automated sandwich/convenience store in Philly? I've only been once since I live on the other coast, but at least it's better than Subway!

7-eleven is like on a mission to conquer every city they appear in. I was last in BKK eight years back and already noticed the presence of 7-eleven there and would expect more now. There were loads in Taipei too, which was good cos they were our other source of sustenance apart from McDonalds.

In Singapore we have them on average at least one 7-eleven every 200 metres. Won't be surprised if they're decreasing the ratio!
