The question is where the best place to start!? i will be arriving in sept also im on a budget so will need to hit the ground running work wise as well, i currently work in admin in the uk but will do pretty much anything. I dont mind getting my hands dirty

Basically what im looking for is....

Nice Weather

Meet like minded people
a good starting point where i can find my feet

i know it a very vague question and people have there own opinions but it would be great to hear them.

The places normally associated with nice weather in Australia have been having major floods whilst the places associated with worse weather have been having a bit of a heat wave (May style).

Sydney is where most people start when they come on a working holiday visa, but living on a tight budget there is not very easy so probably best to start in somewhere like Melbourne. Even Melbourne isn't super cheap, but it is cheaper than in Sydney. It has plenty of things to see and do and is a good place to start. In September the weather in most of Australia can be a bit unpredictable where you will have plenty of nice weather but also some awful weather as well.

Job market here is terrible especially for travellers so don't count on a job straight away - be prepared to wait weeks for something to come up.

Also negotiate long stays at hostels and travel lodges (Victoria Street in Potts Point is good for that). There were two of us so cheaper to rent a studio off gumtree than to stay in a hostel.

See other posts about jobs. We found it very difficult here and other travellers have said its the same everywhere.

Might pick up by Sept tho! :)
