Hello everyone:
Traveling by RV and I'd like to request your opinion to stay in the area and take day trips.
Which town is your favorite and that I can make it home for about a month and take day trips to points of interest.
Your input is very much appreciated......parigi.

First, it's Hill Country.

There is an excellent resource for RV travelers:
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm

A search of their Roads and Routes forum using "Hill Country" brought up 12 pages of posts:
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/search/parms/sw%7BHill%20Country%7D%7Ckm%7Bexact%7D%7Ckl%7Bm%7D%7Cfm%7B30%7D%7Cpd%7B365%7D%7Cma%7B%7D/sr/1.cfm

The site is free, and the people are friendly. Recommend you read through the forums. Then register and post a specific question if needed.

New Braunfels Texas is a great little town. Lot to there and many things to do outside there. It would be a good homebase. Austin is great too, but really big city. There is the Guadalupe River that runs through there, so plenty of oppurtunity.

There are some great local wineries scattered throughout the Hill Country. You could also choose something that's centrally located for taking in some of that. I wish I could remember the winery that made this plum wine I had a few years back, but it was delicious. Ditto on New Braunfels. I love Austin -- very classy but large city. Also lots of good eats. If you can digest a bit of a deeper plunge into the touristy side, San Antonio is a fun place to amble through for a few days.
